Copernicus and the Trials of Galileo

Copernicus; one of the widely known scientists who contributed to the birth of Heliocentrism. Heliocentrism, is the theory in which the sun is in the center, and all the planets revolve around it. This theory, is a major factor to Copernicus and the Trials of Galileo. These two main scientists went against the Catholic church to prove that instead of God putting Earth as the main center of the universe. Because the Catholics believed that Earth was the center, the Catholics put Copernicus and Galileo on trial, for these thoughts at the time was upright absurd.
Although, the Heliocentric thoughts have been around before Copernicus, it was the trials, and the wide spread public that made him one of the founding fathers of this theory.
Galileo's main trail was when he was being persecuted by the Catholic Church. The Head members, put Galileo on trial insisting him that he and Copernicus was wrong. If Galileo did not agree with the church at the time of the trial, he would have been killed or excommunicated from society and the church. Galileo did not think that religion was wrong, in fact, he had faith in the Catholic church; the immobile thoughts of the church disturbed Galileo. As Galileo put a risk to his life defending Copernicus' theory, he had to submit to the churchs' will. However, as Galileo walked out he had whispered about his thoughts on Copernicus and his theories which left him condemned in solitary, excommunication for the rest of his life.
