The scientific method is the foundation of modern day science. Brought up by one of the most famous scientists; Galileo Galilee. The scientific method was the turning point of history, called the Scientific Revolution. Galileo Galilee, risking his entire life to prove Copernicus' theory. Doing this went against the Catholic church and was based on a banned doctrine called the Copernican Doctrine. This is where the scientific method came into play.
The scientific method was used by Galileo to prove theories, or to disprove them. By using mathematical equations, checking and rechecking, he worked to seek the truth. The scientific method is based on the usual, Observation, Analysis, Hypothesis, the outcome, and then the Theory. The scientific method was proven to be worth while in making sure that what was hypothesised was correct. Because of the scientific method we know certain things today, basic things such as positive and negative charges create a positive charge which allows a potato(which contains sodium ion, which is positively charged) to attract a positively charged metal to create a flow of energy. Without the scientific method, we would not even know that potatoes can allow electricity to pass to light a light bulb.
Although the example I have used was minor; because of the scientific method, the many things we know now we would not have known. Basically saying, we were to be primitive as the men who rejected the ideas of Galileo, Copernicus, and Issac Newton.
